Itinerary

Day 1: Sydney to West Wyalong

Departing Sydney early this morning we cross the Blue Mountains and head Northwest towards the township of Bathurst, Australia’s oldest inland town. We make a stop along the way for some coffee and morning tea. Continuing west to the town of Cowra.
We make a stop to admire the stunning Japanese Peace Gardens and find out the history behind them. You will have time to stroll through the seasonal displays and enjoy the surroundings.
Afterwards we have lunch at the Cafe overlooking the gardens before re-boarding the vehicle.
We continue along the Mid-Western highway towards the township of West Wyalong.
In 1895 West Wyalong was developed 5 kilometres from Wyalong around the bullock track, without the benefit of town planning, resulting in curious kinks in the road where it avoided trees and buildings. As well as the mines, the White Tank water supply was located here. This is now the location of McCann Park. The goldfield was declared the most productive in the colony in 1899.
We check in to the Cameo Inn for an overnight stay. After some time to settle in, meet with your guide who will accompany you to dinner.

Day2: West Wyalong to Lake Mungo National Park

You will board the vehicle after an early breakfast this morning. We will continue along the Mid- Western highway towards Hay. One of the highlights will be a tour of the historic Hay Gaol as well as Shear, The Australian Shearers Hall of Fame. This amazing display takes visitors through the incredible history of shearing in Australia and the significance of the wool industry, and how it shaped Australia’s future economy. We take some time also to learn about the rich history of Hay and admire the classic 19th Century Architecture.
Reboarding the vehicle, we now head along the Sturt Highway toward the small town of Balranald, located in the heart of the Murrumbidgee Valley. We stop for some lunch before continuing North West towards the famed Lake Mungo National Park. Lake Mungo is one of the oldest places outside of Africa to have been occupied by modern humans since ancient times. Scientists have discovered artifacts of this ancient culture dating back over 50000 years across the expanse of the Ice Age
Your accommodation tonight is at the well known Mungo Lodge in a King Deluxe Cabin. After settling in, meet at the restaurant onsite for dinner.

Day 3: Lake Mungo National Park

Today will be spent exploring the world-renowned Mungo National Park including a visit to the Zanci Homestead. Later just before sunset, meet with your group again and head out to get some iconic photos of the Great Wall of China just as the sun is setting over them. A uniquely Australian Outback Experience

Day 4:

Start the day with a spectacular 30-minute scenic flight over Lake Mungo National Park, experiencing the amazing landscape from the air. Your early morning flight departs from right outside Lake Mungo Lodge. View the famed Walls of China as the outback slowly comes to life in the morning light. Your scenic flight will continue to the town of Mildura where your guide will be waiting to meet you.
Once in Mildura, you will board the Mildura Paddle Steamer and enjoy a 2hrs cruise on the Murray Darling River. Here you will learn about Murray Darling River system and the history of the paddle boats. Lunch will be at Brass Monkey, located in a 100yr old heritage listed building in Mildura.
After lunch we will reboard the vehicle and head to the Australian Inland Botanic Gardens. Here we will explore the beautiful surroundings. Afterwards, return to The Grand Hotel Mildura where we will stay for the night. Dinner tonight is at Langtree Café. Here you can enjoy a wide ranged menu whilst enjoying the vibe and ambience as the cooks work the grill.

Day 5: Mildura to Griffith

After an early breakfast we depart Mildura and continue to Griffith. Griffith is located in the heart of the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area and is the states food bowl.
On arrival in Griffith, we have organised a special wine tasting and charcuterie board at a local family run winery, Calabria Wines. Well-known local Italians, Calabria is synonymous with Griffith.
Afterwards explore the Griffith Pioneer Park Museum to learn about the amazing history of Griffith and the construction of the revolutionary MIA.
We will stay at The Gem hotel tonight and enjoy an Italian inspired dinner at Giuseppe’s.

Day 6: Griffith to Sydney

After breakfast, we make our way to Sydney. We pass through unique outback towns before arriving in Temora for some morning tea.
Continuing on we head to the beautiful Southern Highlands town of Bowral for lunch.
Changes may be necessary due to inclement weather and common seasonal changes to timetables and transport routes. Whilst we endeavour to give you as much notice as possible, this can happen with little notice so please be prepared for modifications to the route. The order and timing of included activities may also vary from time to time. We do travel on unsealed roads in the outback and sometimes these roads can be a little rough, however it’s all part of the experience! We do take our time and extra care when travelling through these remote regions which may result in longer travel times.

How do weather and traffic conditions affect the journey?

Operating in Outback NSW requires us to travel on unsealed roads. Inclement weather such as heavy rain can close roads with little warning and may result in us having to re-route the itinerary. This is of course all part of the journey and we will always endeavour to provide the best possible experience.

Are there any local produce or fine dining restaurants that I can experience during my tour?

Yes, there are many local produce and fine dining restaurants that you can experience during your trip. In Orange, for example, the city is known for its excellent local produce, vineyards and fine dining restaurants. You can also enjoy lunch at a local café when passing through unique outback towns. Additionally, some of the accommodation options such as farm stays may provide meals from local & homestead produce cooked over a campfire near indoor/outdoor dining rooms. So make sure to take advantage of all these culinary experiences during your Australian Luxury Tours!

Can I book flights departing Sydney on the day of my return trip to Sydney?

We strongly recommend that you do not book flights from Sydney on the day of your return trip. Due to unexpected traffic or weather conditions, our arrival into Sydney might be delayed, so it is best to plan ahead and allow extra time for possible delays. We suggest booking flights departing from Sydney either the day before or one or two days after your return trip to ensure a successful journey.

Yes, there are many activities to enjoy while at Callubri Station. Star-gazing is a popular activity on clear nights and campfires can be enjoyed in the evening with other guests or visitors. The 28,000-acre property also provides scenic views of the Australian outback for exploring during the day. Additionally, some farm stays may offer horse riding experiences as part of your stay or you could take part in a variety of organised tours around nearby towns and attractions. Our private tour to Featherdale and the Blue Mountains was an absolute highlight of our trip. First of all, I was skeptical that Featherdale would be of interest to our group of 9 with 5 teens/young adults.   The website makes it seem like a petting zoo.  I was pleasantly surprised- we loved seeing all of the kangaroos, koalas, wombats, birds, croc etc!  The kids said that they could have stayed at Featherdale all day ;-)Our guide, Scott, was fantastic!  He modified the schedule due to a later arrival in Sydney- making recommendations on what would be best for the group while ensuring we were back on time.  He provided such amazing service - going above and beyond to help us move our luggage to the right hotel. I just returned from traveling to Australia from the US for the first time. Australia has just recently re-opened its borders to international travelers after almost 2 years. Australian Luxury Escapes was able to arrange (2) tours for me with very short notice and I had a great experience on both days! I spoke with one of the owners, Elise, on the phone prior to traveling and she was tremendously helpful in explaining their offerings and what the tours would entail as well as answering other questions about traveling to Australia which was so helpful! I wanted to maximize my time in Sydney when I first arrived which I was able to do in the "Private Essential Sydney Tour". The tour guide was tremendously knowledgable about Sydney having grown up there and was able to accomplish all of the main sights in a half day tour. Doing the tour by vehicle + walking for certain parts allowed us to cover the whole city but also get a closer look at areas of interest. Both vehicles I traveled in felt brand new and were completely clean and comfortable. They offered bottled water and hand sanitizer for use during the tour and a great lunch was included in both tour prices. At the end of the tour, the guide gave me some tips on how I could spend the rest of my day which was great. The second tour I did was the "Private Blue Mountains High Country Day Trip from Sydney" which was also amazing. After a few days in Sydney, it felt great to get out of the city and see more of the beautiful landscape and nature of the national parks region. The area is expansive and would be difficult to cover on your own, especially if you haven't been to the region before. I was able to do this tour with one of the owners, Grant, who has a great knowledge of the region, its history and which locations offer the best views and photo ops! Part of this tour included a trip to a wildlife center which was nice to be able to see animals unique to Australia that you're not going to find just being in Sydney. The center was really well maintained and the staff we encountered were all very friendly. This tour also included a great lunch at the "Boiler House Restaurant" which had great food and amazing views. We did a quick tour of the Hydro Majestic hotel right after lunch which is a true step back in time. I highly recommend this company to anyone traveling to Australia. They have a wide range of unique and curated offerings and both tours made my time in Sydney  very well spent!  Verified Amazing Tour to the Tip of Australia.
We traveled from Cairns to Cape York on an 8 Day 4WD small group tour operated by Australian Luxury Escapes!!What a ride. Fantastic from go to whoa. A very comfortable  5.6lt V8 Nissan Patrol which certainly helped going over the corrugations!! The tour was for 6 pax, thankfully we were 5 which meant only 1 pax had to sit in the “Dickie” seat. It would’ve been tough for 2 to share. We traveled to Cooktown after visiting the Daintree River and cruise, (unfortunately the Bloomfield Track was closed), then to Coen, Lockhart River, Weipa, Punsand Bay, and The Tip. We left our Tour Guide, Alan, at Seisia where we ferried to Thursday Island and Horn Island to fly back to Cairns. Alan was extremely knowledgeable which meant we learned a lot about the areas we visited. A good driver and a lot of fun. Would definitely recommend.

We did the Daintree Wanderer Tour, with Australian Luxury Escapes and it was just fantastic. Our guide Rick was just what you hope for- friendly, knowledgeable, took off beaten track, engaged our children and ensured our day was full and varied. We were lucky enough to see 3 crocs swimming in the river, as well as a Cassowary casually strolling by as we ate our home made morning tea Rick brought along with him.Rick was filled with facts and titbits of info which we loved. The beaches are fabulous and the Rainforest felt rich and thriving which is great to see. We got brilliant service and I couldn’t recommend Rick and this tour more to anyone wanting a personalised and unique tour experience.
